Magnamalo Charge Blade Demo Gameplay - First Clear with the Discord Community! - MH Rise
This was my first ever clear against the new flagship monster for Monster Hunter Rise and what an AMAZING monster design!! Learning this fight is honestly one of the best experience in a long time for me. Since it forces you to use all the attacks available from the CB arsenal following a Guard point counter, including Charged Sword smash, AED's and SAED's against specific counters. I can't remember a single fight in MHW Iceborne that did this... If this is jus a teaser of what's to come, I'm confident it will be an EPIC game! Can't wait to keep learning and optimising my gameplay!!!

This was easily the greatest challenge to get a fast time for Charge Blade within TA Rules. Unfortunately my PB for each of the 3 phases would score a ridiculous sub 12min run but getting 3 phases to be strong is unrealistic and it's just a matter of how much do you want to grind. This is actually an old run and been focusing on my rebranding, but my new strategy is a little different but I'll ...

The MOST frustrating speedrun ever! There's SO many elements in this fight that could go wrong which include any wall grab (invisible or actual walls), trips in falling icebergs, Boa Boa sabotage, bigger than average size monster (your swings won't connect with the head properly and they are more prone to wall grabbing), "Parts Broken" which should trigger a trip but doesn't (Never seen this be...

    Isnt it enough having guard 3 ? Since GP gives +2 and shield charge +2 Only thing that would make sense is using guard up to block the ultra attacks of elders and strongest monsters

    • @SH3RMSY
      @SH3RMSY 7 днів тому

      It completely depends on the monsters you fight. Back in MHW yes guard 3 is more then enough but in Iceborne, there’s a lot more harder hitting attacks that would need guard 5. If you check out my builds in my discord developed for each main monster, you’ll see which monsters I recommend Guard 3 or 5. It’s designed for end game tho.

    Should I guard point a charge attack or evade ? I blocked multiple hit but sharpness gone quick too But if I jump out of it's way I could save some sharpness n might b able to hit it while it's still running. M not sure which is more effective

    • @SH3RMSY
      @SH3RMSY 17 днів тому

      Keeping up your sharpness is extremely important, so you need to balance when to guard point (GP) and when to evade. Ideally you want to GP when you have a great opportunity to counter or it’s necessary to save you from getting hit. Evading is probably the next step after learning the fundamentals of guard pointing and you can only get good at this if you’re able to anticipate the monster moves which is gained by experience/practice.

    The guard point timing is super hard. If you guard a fraction too early, you get fully knocked back far. Only if your timing is right, which in my testing seems to be almost "late" (i.e. press R2 a fraction after the barrel explosion starts), then your knock back is small. And if you are too early pressing the R2 then you don't guard at all, you end up making an axe smash attack. The timing is hard even in training area.. imagine out in the wild with a furious Rajang jumping around. Can we guard against Gold Rathian charges? So annoying when he charges back and forth trampling over you over and over. 😑

      I promise you, I was thinking exactly the same and shared the same if not worst frustrations when I first learned but this should be similar to everyone who first picked up the weapon. You’d be surprised, but it will start to be muscle memory as you get better and better and better over time. Eventually, you’ll get to a point where you see improvements practically daily/each session. Be patient, try and get a little bit down back to back in the training area and don’t spend too much time there but practice with an easy and predictable monster move set. You got this my guy, we all went through this pain 👊

    • @SH3RMSY
      @SH3RMSY 2 місяці тому

      @@Lucita. No worries and very good question! Most monsters are weakest to elemental CB, especially if you’re playing in Iceborne. The playstyle doesn’t determine the type of CB you should use, it’s what that specific monster is weakest too. If you’re new and don’t have much resources, then one strong impact CB would be a good start but don’t be lazy and rely on that. Hope this helps!

      Thanks buddy! I had 1 free slot and there’s nothing valuable to add to the build so I just picked defense which is irrelevant tbh. I have never used or cared about defense decorations or skills in this game cause it encourages you to be a poor gamer and learn way too slow ;-)

    The sound and effects of guard pointing is what makes it very satisfying, I'm more hyped up when landing a successful guard point than landing an SAED or AED. I just started playing for a few months and this video is already up for 3 years, so far I'm more used to the sword to axe guard point. sometimes I got lucky and unintentionally land the other guard points while I'm in the middle of the animation and will always make me think that there are a lot of ways to access guard point, its just that I don't know how, so its very helpful that you've put up this video and Thanks a lot.

    I often GP with the slide That one is nice and slow, I can read when the hit is coming and slide back into a block. To block a quick attack, obviously axe switch GP but sucks when you miss or the monster misses and you're just slamming your heavy axe down about to get hit hard... 😂 Still can't do the new savage axe GP, I forget it's even there

      Yeah man, welcome to the club, we’ve all been exactly where you’re at and self awareness is the first step. Keep practicing specific guard points at a time and maybe against specific monsters where it’s most favourable and you’ll learn faster! Not sure if you watched my guard pointing guard, but that will help you greatly 💪
